Q: How do I access the archives for research purposes?
A: The archives is open to the public by appointment on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 12:30 – 4:30 pm. To make an appointment, please email the Archivist at archives@vanmaritime.com

Q: Are there fees for accessing the archives?
A: No. All services are free of charge, except for photocopies and reproductions.

Q: How do I donate something to the Museum?
A: If you are interested in donating archival material to the museum please email the Archivist at archives@vanmaritime.com with information and images of what you would like to donate. If you would like to donate an artifact to the museum, please email the Curator at curator@vanmaritime.com with information and images of what you would like to donate. Please note that donations may need to be brought to the attention of the museum’s Collections Committee which meets every few months.

Q: How do I borrow something from the Museum?
A: If you would like to request an artifact for loan, please contact the Curator with the details of your request (reason for request, name of company/institution, duration of loan request). Email these details to curator@vanmaritime.com and the museum will review your request to let you know if the loan is approved. Some follow-up information such as insurance certificates may be required.

Please note that archival materials, due to their unique and irreplaceable nature, are not available to borrow or loan to the public.

Q: How do I get a copy of a photograph or an image of an artifact?
A: Contact the Archivist using the "Ask An Archivist" button on the record you are interested in getting a copy of. Alternatively, email the Archivist at archives@vanmaritime.com.
