Jointer Plane, Leveling Plane
CategoryTools and Equipment for Materials, Woodworking T&E
History of UseAfter setting and wedging the iron blade to the desired thickness, the plane is pushed, shaving off a layer of wood at a time. Depending on the diagonal of the blade and the angle of the plane itself, the wood can be made to have a rough or smooth finish. The main purpose of this plane is to create straight edges on wood boards in preparation for the process of jointing.
