History of Use
This mallet was used to drive down chisels and to fit together and knock apart mortise and tenon joints. It was used by striking down with the either end of the mallet head as the end grain is very hard. The long side of the mallet head can be used as a finisher, as it is less apt to dent. When choosing a joiner mallet for a woodwork project, the type of wood, weight, size and shape of the head are carefully taken into consideration
