Description
a) Bell from NAGASAKI. The head is nearly horizontal, so the angle at the shoulder is almost 90 degrees. Inscribed on the waist, but not original: "NAGASAKI-1889-BUILT HONG KONG". The clapper is made of one piece of brass which has a hook on its upper end that goes through a ring on the underside of the crown. The crown is part of the same casting as the rest of the bell, is cylindrical 2.5cm. diameter and extends upward 3cm. before tapering to a smaller, threaded end.
b) A hexagonal nut with an oval top fits on the threaded part of the crown.
