Scope & ContentOrdinary apprentice's indenture agreement issued at Liverpool on July 11, 1899 by the Board of Trade. The agreement for service was made between Henry Edward Metcalf (aged 14) and J. B. Walmsley and Co. for a total of five years. The agreement also includes a pencilled notification of Metcalf's first posting after the apprenticeship has expired. On the verso, the document provides a handwritten record of the money issued to Metcalf and certifcation of his completing his apprenticeship dated July 11, 1904.
