Multiple components of a Schermuly Line-Throwing Apparatus.
  1. Schermuly Pistol Rocket Apparatus. Wood and metal handle with a metal barrel painted grey. Plastic handle on top of barrel. The number "16847" is stamped into the metal part of the handle on one side, and "Schermuly's Pat. No. 503324" is stamped on the other.
  2. to C. Rockets. Grey with black text that reads "Schermuly International No/2. 41 mm line-throwing rocket. A Schermuly-Icarus product. Made in England. Warning: Do not fire without a line attached. Regulations require time expired rockets to be dumped unfired at sea they should not be used for practice. Lot 39F F160." A stamp reads "Apr -- 66." Attached to the rocket is a length of rope that then joins to a thick wire.
  3. to H. Not recorded in old database, not found with objects.
I. Black cardboard box painted black, with some duct tape, containing a long length of rope neatly folded. Some of the rope has come unfolded and is hanging out of the box.

J. to L Cartridges. Gold coloured with red on one end. Has "--66" stamped on opposite end.

M. Box of rope

P. Red tin for cartridges. Label on top of tin reads "6 Cartridges for use with 2lb. and 6lb. rockets only. Schermuly Pistol Rocket Apparatus." "Percussion" is stamped on the bottom of the label and "Apr 1966" is stamped on the side of the label. Box is empty except for some thin pieces of corrugated cardboard.

Q. Instruction card "for the use of the Schermuly Pistol Rocket Apparatus." 8 point instructions with a photograph on an 30.4 x 21.5 cm mounted card.
